NEP Workshop :-

“If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.” John Dewey.

The previous policies on education have focused on the issues of access and equity, and the policy of 1986 (modified in 1992) lead to a major development in the form of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Act 2009).

Now the emphasis has been laid on the quality of education in NEP 2020 and its need of the hour is to reconfigure the education system to support the same.

Kailashpat Singhania High School, Vijaygram, organised a workshop on ‘New Education Policy-2020’ on February 17th 2024 at school premises under COE Bhopal. The event was graced by the Resource Persons, Mr. Rashpal Singh Bhomrah; and Ms. Kavita Trivedi. The main objective of this workshop was to apprise the faculty members about the newly launched National Education Policy-2020 and to familiarise them with the skills needed to understand changes in the curriculum, shift in the pedagogical skills and its implementation for the holistic development of its stakeholders, the students.

The session began with the floral welcome of the eminent resource persons. Both of them shared the vision for school education in India and also expressed the importance of using a holistic and multidisciplinary learning approach which will help the learners adapt and reinvent themselves to the demands of the new hybrid work culture and dynamic socio-cultural changes. This new structure, in place of old, i.e, replacing 10+2 with 5+3+3+4 envisages to transform India to a vibrant society and global knowledge superpower by making both school and college education more holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary, suited to the 21st century’s needs and aimed at bringing out the unique capabilities of each student.

They also concluded the session by emphasising on the challenges likely to be faced in New Education Policy. The programme was indeed informative and useful for the participants. It acquainted them with the intent, implementation and prospects of NEP 2020.
